Synopsis

In an era where data dominates, the most revealing audit evidence often still comes from people — their decisions, pressures, and perceptions. This webinar explores how developing an investigative mindset enables internal auditors to turn everyday conversations into powerful sources of insight and assurance.

Participants will learn practical techniques to conduct purposeful, non-confrontational interviews that uncover intent, behavioural root causes, and cultural indicators behind control breakdowns. Through real-world examples, the session will highlight how skilled inquiry enhances understanding of organisational resilience, ethical culture, and emerging risks.

Moving beyond checklists and templates, this session repositions the auditor as a curious navigator of ambiguity — one who listens to understand, not to interrogate. By combining empathy, skepticism, and structured questioning, internal auditors can strengthen both assurance quality and trust with stakeholders.
