INTRODUCTION

Becker - The IIA CIA Exam Review is a premier-quality Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) course designed to meet the unique needs of internal audit professionals. Developed under the guidance of CIA-certified subject matter experts, the course provides students with the tools necessary to successfully prepare for the CIA exam in the time frame and learning format that best suits them.

The CIA exam part 3 includes four domains focused on business acumen, information security, information technology, and financial management. Part 3 is designed to test candidates’ knowledge, skills, and abilities, particularly as they relate to these core business concepts.

• The number of topics covered on the part 3 exam has been greatly refocused to the core areas that are most critical for internal auditors.
• The exam syllabus features a new subdomain on data analytics.
• The information security portion of the exam has been expanded to include additional topics such as cybersecurity risks and emerging technology practices.
• The largest domain is “Business Acumen,” which makes up 35% of the exam.
• A portion of the exam requires candidates to demonstrate a basic comprehension of concepts; another portion requires candidates to demonstrate proficiency in their knowledge, skills, and abilities.

ABOUT THE TRAINER

Dr. Sia Nam Chie began his career as an external auditor in a Big 4 accounting firm before moving into internal audit in a telecommunication company and financial institutions. He has also served in leadership roles in the first and second lines of defence in leading financial institutions. He is an active volunteer taken up various positions, such as Treasurer and Audit Committee member in not-for-profit organisations. He was a member of the International Internal Auditing Standards Board from 2016 to 2018, and a Governor of IIA Singapore from 2013 to 2019 (Vice-President from 2017 to 2019).

Academically, Dr. Sia has MBA (Distinction) and Bachelor degree (Hons) in Accountancy. Professionally, he has obtained CA, CIA, CFA, CFE & CISA qualifications. With his diverse experiences, he is able to use practical examples to illustrate concepts in an easy to understand manner. Since conducting CIA courses in 2006, Dr. Sia has consistently received positive feedback for using practical examples to illustrate internal audit concepts.

• Once the course is confirmed, an email confirmation will be sent to the registrants’ contact email addresses 1 week prior to the course commencement date.
• If you do not receive any email notification regarding your course registrations, please call IIA Academy at 6324 9029 ext 2004 or 2005.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

• Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Contact person will be notified via email upon successful registration of the participants. The seminar details would be sent to the registered participants one week prior to the seminar.
• Registration fee must be received prior to the date of the seminar.
• Registered participants will be liable for the full registration fee in the event of non-attendance on the date of the seminar
• Cancellation must be submitted in writing to the Academy team at iia-academy@iia.org.sg at least 7 working days prior to the seminar and subject to IIA Singapore's approval. A processing fee of $100 per participant will be imposed for any cancellation less than 7 working days. Substitutions will be permitted, and conditions will apply. You may substitute a “like” person to attend the seminar in your place – for example, if you are an IIA Singapore member, you may substitute with another IIA Singapore member.
• IIA Singapore reserves the right to cancel or postpone the seminar if the minimum class size is not met. In such cases, all paid registration fees will be refunded in full.
• IIA Singapore reserves the right to revise the seminar programme if necessary
• IIA Singapore reserves the right in our absolute discretion and without further liability to cancel any training, in which case any fees paid by you will be refunded. However, in such circumstances IIA Singapore cannot be held responsible for hotel or travel expenses which you are unable to recoup as a result of a training being cancelled.
• IIA Singapore reserves the right to take videos and photographs during the seminar for use in IIA Singapore’s marketing collaterals and other publicity purposes.
• Complimentary parking, if available, will be provided on a first-come-first-served basis.
