Course Overview:

This 2-day session is designed to provide participants with an overview of the emerging technologies, and the practical skills required for their governance, control and audit. It includes Cloud Computing, Big Data, AI and Machine Learning, Internet of Things, Driverless Cars, Drones, Emerging Shopping Experience, Augmented and Virtual Reality, and Mobile Payments. This course will expose participants to new fraud schemes and innovation in fraud management.

Using ready-to-use tools, exercises and sharing of experiences, participants will learn how to provide effective and practical recommendations to Senior Management in reaction to emerging technologies. Guidance will be given on these tools, and the latest innovation techniques in relation to fraud management will be covered.

Mr Frank Yam started his professional career in international auditing and information security in 1984. He has held management positions at KPMG, and various multi-national corporations, including several leading international financial institutions. He is currently the Chairman and CEO of Focus Strategic Group Inc, a consulting firm providing Business and Technology advisory services, with special focus on Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance, Internal Auditing, IT auditing, risk management and IT system implementations. Mr Yam is also the Managing Director of Handshake Networking Limited, which provides comprehensive network and security services. He has been very active in professional and community services and served in leadership role of numerous local and international professional bodies. Most notably, he served as the International Vice President of ISACA International from 2004- 2009, President of ISACA China Hong Kong Chapter from 1996-1998, Chairperson of Hong Kong Computer Society’s Information Security Specialist Group from 2002-2011, and was the Founder of the Hong Kong Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Mr Yam has been an adjunct professor and part-time lecturer for universities in China, Hong Kong, USA, Canada, and Australia, and is a frequent article contributor to several professional journals. He is a very popular speaker of a wide variety of topics at seminars and conferences for professional organisations and government agencies, including the INTERPOL and the Asian Development Bank. In recent years, Mr Yam has been focusing on promoting the awareness and best practices of Corporate Governance, IT Governance, Risk Management and Controls, Frauds, as well as the COSO and COBIT frameworks, in the Asia Pacific Region.

Mr Yam was the recipient of numerous awards for his contribution to the profession, including the prestigious International Best Speaker Award by ISACA International.
