Internal Audit Practitioner

ESTABLISH YOUR INTERNAL AUDIT CREDENTIALS WITH THE IAP DESIGNATION

The Internal Audit Practitioner (IAP) designation offers a recognised pathway for individuals to demonstrate their internal audit knowledge without the need to meet traditional education or work experience requirements. It also serves as a foundational step toward earning the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation, the only globally recognised certification for internal auditors.

By earning the IAP, professionals gain formal recognition for their internal audit aptitude through the successful completion of the CIA Part 1 exam, underscoring their commitment to the profession and ongoing professional development.

THE IAP DESIGNATION BENEFITS

Alternative Entry Pathway

  • Designed for those new to internal audit or transitioning into the profession, the IAP offers a streamlined path to the CIA by waiving the CIA Part 1 exam requirement.

Global Recognition

  • Awarded by The IIA, the IAP is internationally recognised and aligned with globally accepted standard and ethics.

Permanent Designation

  • The IAP is now a permanent designation requiring 20 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) hours for every annual renewal beginning in 2026.
