Internal Audit Practitioner
The Internal Audit Practitioner (IAP) designation allows its holders to bypass the education and employment requirements and still demonstrate their internal audit aptitude. It is an alternative pathway to the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation, the only globally recognised certification for internal audit practitioners around the world.
The IAP programme allows candidates to pass the exam within two years from the date they are accepted into the programme. This includes meeting all the exit requirements. Certification holders will then have three years to enrol into the CIA programme.
Candidates agree to accept its conditions of the program, including eligibility requirements, exam confidentiality, Standards of Ethics and Professionalism, and Continuing Professional Education (CPE), along with other conditions enacted by The IIA's Professional Certification Board (PCB).
Holders of the IAP designation are also required to fulfil their CPE requirements and submit a self-attestation during the annual renewal of their designation. For more information, please refer to the Certification Renewal Policy.
