Learn at Lunch: New Initiatives and Resources to Help Organisations Protect Personal Data

The Institute was pleased to hold the second session of Learn at Lunch on 10 February 2017. For this session, we had Ms. Valeriane Toon, Senior Assistant Director of Communications, Outreach and International Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC), Singapore to go through the overview of Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), examples of breach and consequences faced by some organisations and the resources available for organisations to manage personal data in their possession.

Mr Sia Nam Chie, a governor of IIA Singapore, continued the session with his views on how internal auditors can play a part in helping the organisation to create a strong PDPA framework.
