Members Year End Get Together 2019
On Tuesday 26 November 2019, close to 40 members got the chance not just to have an early year-end get-together, but to meet our new IIA Singapore President, Mr Koh Chin Beng and Board of Governors at Fat Chap at Suntec City.
But while the buffet-styled dinner nicely complemented the evening’s free flow of beer among others, everyone learnt to keep tabs on their calories and protein, and even differentiated between ‘simple carbs and complex carbs’! All thanks to Ms Wendy Riddell of UFIT with her advice on a healthy living lifestyle which covered everything from food to exercise to even sleeping.
Members also received recognition awards for their long-standing support to the Institute. Many were thrilled simply to be in the presence of one member, Mr Alfred Shee Ping Fatt, Past President of IIA Singapore, who’s been with the Institute for 43 years! “I am proud to contribute to the standing of the internal audit profession in the community, as well as gaining the benefits provided by being part of a professional community,” said Mr Shee.
This brought to mind the saying - ‘A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step’, and with the night’s celebratory atmosphere seen as a single step forward, we want to reaffirm our commitment to members of many more interesting and meaningful ‘steps’ coming up in the future.
