Panel Discussion: Best Practices for Optimising Auditing in the New Norm

Covid-19 has accelerated the adoption of new technologies and increased the importance and reliance on big data. These changes have inevitably forced auditors to innovate and adapt quickly. Over 400 participants from IIA Singapore and ACCA Singapore attended the Panel Discussion: Best Practices for Optimising Auditing in the New Norm” webinar on 12 August 2021. Moderated by Dennis Lee (Partner, Risk Advisory & Industry Lead, Real Estate and Construction at RSM Singapore), the panellists comprising Magdalene Ang (Director, R Chan & Associates PAC), Jennifer Ong (Division Director of Group Internal Audit at MOH Holdings and Governor of IIA Singapore), Gajendran Vyapuri (Audit partner, Ernst & Young LLP) and Richard Yeong (Head of Technology Audit & Innovation, Grab) engaged in robust discussions that centred around how auditors have to deal with new business models, new technologies, the power of AI, big data, and the  skillsets required to stay relevant. Topics covered included agile auditing, continuous auditing, new technologies, and next generation of skillsets.

We hope that our participants have gained insightful perspectives on what will be required to stay ahead of the curve and fulfil the expectations of the role as a trusted advisor.

This panel discussion is the third of the 4-part Governance, Risk and Compliance lunchtime webinar series organised in partnership with ACCA Singapore.
