Public Sector Internal Audit Conference 2022
Over 260 delegates, including Goh Soon Poh, Auditor-General and Ow Fook Chuen, Accountant-General attended our flagship Public Sector Internal Audit Conference on 21 April 2022. Themed “Positioning Internal Audit for the Future”, the conference programme focused on the importance of internal audit in the public sector space in supporting the stakeholders in assuring that the public funds are utilised effectively and services are delivered efficiently to the recipients.
In his speech, Guest-of-Honour Derrick Goh, Managing Director & Group Head of Internal Audit, DBS Bank and Member, Public Accounts Committee shared his insights on how internal audit should shed traditional approaches and take bold steps in transforming for the future, to continue value-adding in an increasingly complex environment. He also talked about the elements of transformational leadership, which is key for leaders to spark and sustain change in the transformation journey. These elements include having the right tone from the top, encouraging experimentations, practising psychological safety, and driving a feedback culture.
