Vocal Leadership

Many of us pay little attention to our humble voice, missing it only when we have a bad throat. On 16 February 2023, IIA Singapore hosted a webinar, “Vocal Leadership” which was attended by over 170 participants, including IIA members as far away as Barbados. Rebecca Low from the Vocal Charisma Academy showed how a voice alone, can even make or break a character from the movies. Participants were surprised at how one’s voice could be so under-rated, despite being one of the more important components of good and effective communications.

From learning the basics of clear speech such as vocal variety and control, to something seemingly as simple as breathing, the participants had the chance to re-examine their voice, improve their pronunciation, and even learn to express their ‘executive voice’!
