Visit from Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Audit and Inspection Commission

On 25 September 2024, IIA Singapore President Stephen Ching welcomed a 14-member delegation from the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Audit and Inspection Commission, led by Audit Committee Chairman Kang Gitak. The meeting facilitated meaningful discussions about our initiatives and how we enhance professional development support for our members and the profession.

IIA Singapore Executive Director Richard Dyason provided insights into the evolving trends in Singapore, focusing on the increasing regulatory demands for sustainability and climate-related disclosures, as well as developments in anti-money laundering. He emphasised the critical role that internal auditors play in ensuring compliance with these regulations. He also presented IIA Singapore’s professional development programmes and the new Global Internal Audit Standards, which are designed to enhance organisational governance and protect public interest. Additionally, he shared key findings from the "Risk in Focus 2024" report, highlighting emerging risks that internal auditors must be prepared to address.

The visit reflects IIA Singapore’s commitment to fostering global knowledge exchange and advancing the internal audit profession.
