New Year Networking Event
On 9 January 2025, over 40 IIA Singapore members, including board members, gathered for an evening of networking and insightful discussions, setting an inspiring tone for the year ahead.
The event opened with a welcome address by Executive Director Richard Dyason, who underscored the significance of the newly effective Global Internal Audit Standards. Effective from the same day, these Standards represent a milestone in strengthening the governance framework that underpins organisational success. Richard also highlighted the support available from IIA Singapore and IIA Global, including resources and guidance to help internal audit professionals navigate the evolving landscape.
The evening’s highlight was an engaging session led by Ong Wei Han, Chief Administrative Officer (Asia Pacific) and Senior Country Business Manager (South & Southeast Asia) at J.P. Morgan, and Governor of IIA Singapore. His talk on "Effective Communication Strategies in a Collaborative Workplace" resonated with attendees, sparking engaging discussions about fostering collaboration and strengthening workplace relationships.
This gathering offered members a valuable opportunity to reconnect with peers, meet new industry leaders, and exchange well wishes for a prosperous year ahead.
