Redefining Internal Audit: Leveraging Agentic AI for Higher-Fidelity, Lower-Effort Workflows

More than 250 professionals from Singapore and the region attended the webinar “Redefining Internal Audit: Leveraging Agentic AI for Higher-Fidelity, Lower-Effort Workflow” on 9 April 2026, featuring Vidya Peters, CEO of DataSnipper, as speaker. The level of participation and the range of questions reflected a growing interest in how Agentic AI is shaping the work of internal audit teams.

The session explored how Agentic AI is being used to support internal audit workflows. Tools such as Excel agents and AI driven document extraction were shared as examples of how routine and manual steps can be streamlined, improving consistency in documentation and review processes. These capabilities allow internal auditors to dedicate more time to analysis, judgement, and delivering meaningful insights.

The discussion also highlighted what this means for audit teams as they look to adopt these tools. As workflows evolve, quality, governance, and consistency remain important considerations. The emphasis was on how human judgement continues to play a key role in interpreting outputs and providing assurance.

Participants gained practical insights into how Agentic AI can be applied in day-to-day audit work, along with an understanding of how to work alongside these tools as part of evolving processes. The session also reinforced how the profession is adapting, with technology enabling internal audit teams to operate more efficiently while maintaining alignment with the IIA Global Internal Audit Standards.

As interest in Agentic AI continues to grow, webinars like this are helping shape how internal audit teams approach adoption, balancing new capabilities with the expectations of quality, governance, and trusted assurance.
