Certification Renewal

Certification holders are required to renew their IIA certifications annually, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge and skills sharp by earning and attesting to Continuing Professional Education (CPE) hours throughout the year.


The Annual Certification Renewal takes place between 1 October to 31 December each year. Certification holders must log in to the Certification Candidate Management System (CCMS) to complete their renewal. Annual renewal fees apply based on IIA membership status.

The fees indicated are exclusive of GST. Singapore’s prevailing GST is payable by individuals. All fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
 

For holders of multiple certifications, CPE hours earned for one certification may count toward the requirements of another. For example, 40 hours related to internal auditing and risk management assurance can be applied to both CIA and CRMA.


Should an individual fail to meet the renewal requirements by the deadline of 31 December, their Active designation will enter a Grace status, and the individual may no longer represent themselves as certified.


Certification holders in Grace status for more than 24 months will have their certification Revoked. Recertification, including exam completion, will be required to reinstate certification status.
